The MENTOR Initiative is seeking a dynamic person to lead its work in Kenya as part of a new initiative starting in January 20 I 4. 

If successful candidate will have at least 8 years experience in senior level management of vector borne disease control programmes at public health level, and will have worked in several disease endemic countries. 

You will have proven experience working within international organisations and collaborating with international disease control partners (academic and operational), and you will be able to transfer, and cross fertilize, best practice in disease control learnt from other country experiences. In particular, you will have prior disease control experience and training in the control of emergency vector borne diseases including Dengue fever and Chikungunya.
 
You will have a successful track record of design and management of vector borne disease control programmes, budgets, and donor fund raising.

You will have excellent team management capacity and donor reporting skills. 

You will also have excellent technical training and capacity building skills and will have proven experience of successfully working with national health leaders and decision makers in strategic planning and roll out of vector borne disease control programmes.
 
You will be an excellent communicator and will be able to work effectively in the two main international scientific languages (English and French), and will be able to travel and present the Kenya programmes results at national and international tropical medicine conferences, and will be able to work with national and international partners to co-ordinate the development of international publications as an when appropriate.

Glacier Products Limited, manufacturers of ice cream (Dairy land, Mio and Amore mia) brands of ice cream intend to recruit a Quality Assurance Assistant who will report to Quality Assurance Officer.
 
Job Summary: Tests and inspects products at various stages and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

Job Purpose: Ensure adherence of specifications and quality procedures at all stages are followed in the production process.

General Responsibilities / Duties:-

  • Check all raw materials/Pack Materials received if the meet company specifications and legal requirements and that they are stored in hygienic conditions to avoid deterioration.
  • Assist with maintenance of product specifications
  • Counter check that the standard operation procedures are followed in all processes, document and communicate the SOPs.
  • Confirm that the correct ingredients in correct quantities are used in the products.
  • Confirm that the correct packaging and correct labels are used during filling.
  • Carry out systematic checks, line quality analysis of the products
  • Assist in conducting internal, external and supplier’s audits.  
  • Assist in Training of staff in all sections.
  • Shall be responsible for record keeping and proper filling of all quality related documents
  • Participate actively in any technical committees & meetings
  • Shall control all food safety hazard in the work areas as per our food safety systems
  • Enforce IMS (ISO 22000-2005) systems procedures on area of work.
  • Any other duty as assigned.
Skills & Competencies:-
  • Possess a minimum of a Certificate/diploma in food or dairy science.
  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on daily tasks.
  • Keen and articulate on details.
  • Relevant working experience:
  • At least 1 year working experience in quality assurance/control in the food industry.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000:2005 and other Food Management Systems.
