The Kenya Copyright Board is a State Corporation under State Law office whose mandate is to enforce and administer copyright and related rights.

The Board is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following positions.

1. Senior Accountant

KCB 8

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Accountant is expected to carry out the following duties:-
  • In charge of the accounting section;
  • Review of accounting procedures and practices;
  • Supervision, training and development of accounts staff;
  • Organisation and management of the accounting section;
  • Interpretation and implementation of financial policies;
  • Budgeting and management of financial returns;
  • Advise on all Financial matters;
  • Direct control of accounts matters;
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting option) from a recognized university;
  • CPA (K.);
  • Has served for at least 3 years in the grade of Accountant 1;
  • Demonstrate ability in management of accounts and staff of not less than 3 years;
2. Senior Human Resource Management Officer

KCB 8

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Advise on the recruitment, appointment, promotions, remuneration, staff training and welfare;
  • Development of staff policies and procedures;
  • Prepare and process the salaries and allowances of staff;
  • Prepare and ensure that staff appraisals are carried out
  • Identify staff training needs and develop appropriate training and skills development programmes
  • Supervise the preparation and maintenance of leave schedules;
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications

For appointment to the position of Senior Human Resource Management officer, one must:-
  • A Degree in Human Resource Management or its equivalent from a recognised institution;
  • Or a higher diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Have served as Human Resource Management Officer I for at least three (3) years;
  • Be a member of professional body
3. Senior Supply Chain Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Supply Chain Officer is expected to carry out the following duties:-
  • Control of supply chain vote
  • Supervision of supply chain
  • Ensure efficient distribution of stores
  • Verification of all supply chain records from divisional/ departmental/ sections
  • Preparation of indents, assisting in planning office accommodation and layout
  • Ensure safe custody of the records and ensuring proper maintenance of filing system at the store
  • Supervision, training and control of supply chain section staff.
Minimum Qualifications

For one to be appointed to this post, one must have:
  • A Bachelors degree in a relevant field and a diploma in supplies management or its equivalent;
  • Have served as procurement officer for at least 3 years;
  • Must be a member of Regulatory body
4. Senior Public Communications Officer

KCB 8

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Communications Officer is expected to carry out the following duties:-
  • Advise the Kenya Copyright Board on Public communication;
  • Research;
  • Development of Concepts;
  • Develop proposals and strategies
  • Prepare documents for public/media;
  • Prepare Events and public functions on behalf of the Board;
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications

To be appointed to this position, one must have:-
  • A Degree or its equivalent in relevant field from a recognised university;
  • At least 3 years experience in public communication;
  • Potential for innovation and personal initiative;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Must be a member of a professional body.

Position: Assistant Logistics Officer

Department: Administration

Assigned Project: Malaria and HIV/AIDS/TB Project

Program Area: Kisii, Gucha, Nyamira Districts, Kenya

Responsible To: Logistics Officer

Staff Directly Supervised: Drivers

Relationships Internally: All Management and Staff

Relationships Externally: Suppliers, Contractors

Overall objectives

To assist the field Logistician in implementing and promoting adherence to Merlin logistics systems and procedures

To organise and manage assigned logistics processes, including storekeeping and warehousing, transport and vehicle management, inventory and asset management as well as the related administrative procedures, for Merlin operations.

To support the program department in logistics matters.

Procurement
  • As assigned, process all the needs (SRQ/SRP’s) dully authorised and approved by the relevant departments within due time.
  • In liaison with the field Logistician, to update the base order follow up and inform other departments of their orders status (both local and form capital).
Warehousing
  • To ensure proper stock management according to Merlin and donor policy
  • To account properly for all entries and exits in the stock.
  • To ensure proper storage conditions
  • To make a physical check / count every month of the stock and running commodities (fuel etc)
  • To prepare the stock movement report for the Field Log before the 5th of each month
  • To prepare stock reports for specific donor commodities, WFP, MOH, UNICEF at the end of each month and whenever required / requested by the Field Logistician
  • To manage and supervise the distribution of supplies to health facilities.
  • To implement proper stock management in the pharmacy with technical support from the PHC and Pharmacist
Vehicle fleet & movements
  • In liaison with the Field Logistician, Plan & organize vehicle allocation according to the program demands in order to optimally serve the needs of the programme.
  • Support the field Log in Monitoring the fuel Consumption and maintenance of Merlin owned and rented vehicles and supervise the skills of the drivers according to Merlin policies.
  • To ensure drivers follow Merlin regulations and code of conduct when driving a Merlin vehicle or a vehicle rented by Merlin.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the logbook by drivers and keeping of movement / fuel books for monitoring purpose and ensure they report in the proper way ( weekly base)
  • To ensure and check the proper technical condition of all vehicles (both rented and MERLIN) and inform management accordingly
  • Assist in monitoring the movements and security of all the field teams using HF radio in accordance with the security guidelines.
Equipment & Asset management
  • Ensure maintenance and repairs of all project equipment
  • To inform both the Field Log and the IT-Officer of any technical defaults on any of the equipment.
  • Registration of inventory in the register and ensuring the same assets can be ascertained on the ground.
  • Updating the entire inventory Register and entering newly acquired inventory into the electronic version.
  • Establishing controls which are supposed to safeguard the lifespan of the inventory and assets.
  • Labelling of the inventory details and such details transferred to the electronic version of the inventory register.
Camp Management
  • Ensure the premises, personnel and property are well guarded and the visitor and vehicle movement is registered.
  • Manage the compound generator, fuel sheds and security guards.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the logistics officer
Job and person specifications
  • Posses a degree in Business Administration and have a relevant certificate in supplies management.
  • Experience on fleet management would be an added advantage.
  • Have served for a minimum period of FIVE (5) years with a reputable organization
  • Have shown merit and ability in work performance and results
  • Computer literate supported by certificates and testimonials.
  • Team Player, excellent interpersonal, organizational, multitasking and communication skills
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and action.
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative and operate as part of a team
  • Be flexible to changing requirements that the role may require
